Lesson 3: The Motivation Test

Lesson 3: The Motivation Test

In Lesson 3 of a 9 part series, we discuss, The Motivation Test.  This test occurs when God exposes the Christian to forces that influence our decision-making process. This test allows not only God to see who we serve, but shows us too. If you can make it through the motivation test, you're on a path of righteousness. Paul said there were those who preached the gospel out of envy and rivalry. He also goes on to say they are preaching out of selfish ambition. Their aim was to stir up trouble.  Can you imagine out of envy and rivalry, they are preaching a message of peace and love? Why do wrong motives occur? They occur because a person puts their own needs first, rather than the purposes of God. They desire to be the center of attention, even at the expense of those around them and have self-ambition of acquiring influence, power, or wealth. When given the right kind of motivation, God is glorified by our actions. His purposes are fulfilled in the earth and people are blessed by our actions. This also shows, our heart is pure and untainted and our blessed future in God is assured. Are you passing The Motivation Test?
