In this sermon Rent Rocks Or Rent Veils, two things were explicitly noted to have been RENT when Jesus died. "split or sever (literally or figuratively): - break, divide, open, rend, make a rent." The veil RENT, or tore apart and opened in the temple of Jerusalem. And the ROCKS rent, or broke up. And these very two things were used as pictures of the two sorts of hearts that people have. They show in figure the two actions that must be taken for each of these two sorts of hearts. It all depends upon your heart's reaction to the truth of the cross of Jesus Christ. Not only were rocks broken when Christ died, but something else that speaks of the heart -- A DIFFERENT KIND OF HEART -- is rent as well. The rending of the veil.
