Lesson 3: The Holy Life

Lesson 3: The Holy Life

In lesson 3 of an 8 part series, I want us to talk about another kind of life: The Holy Life. When we look at The Jesus Life we learn, God is light. His light shines through those who are willing to live The Examined Life. Today we will see how the Light not only wants to shine but be reflected from us to others as we live The Holy Life. How do we define Holy? Holy is defined as, “someone or something that is dedicated or consecrated to God or a religious purpose. It means to be ‘set aside’ for God’s use and purpose.” When you were filled with the Holy Spirit, God made you Holy. He wants you to walk in that holiness. Holiness is the habit of being in one mind with God. We love the things God loves. Hate the things he hates and we measure all things by the standard of the Word of God. This Life is revealed by the way we live and the way we act. Walking in the light of God means we walk by the Spirit and not by sinful nature. If we can see what The Holy Life looks like, then we can also see what an unholy life looks like. You cannot walk by the Spirit if you do not have the Spirit. Walk away from these things (darkness) and into the light of God’s holiness.
