In order to understand the picture of the reason God disallowed man to enter to eat fruit of life, and later allowed others, but not all, we have to understand what SIN DOES. In this sermon  When Life-Giving Food Kills, You must believe that Jesus' death COUNTS AS YOUR DEATHS in God's eyes. He shed the blood and the sins were removed off our lives. People with sin cannot eat fruit of life. Everyone is born in sin, just as all males are born in need of circumcision. Physical circumcision is not required, of course, today. But all us are born in sin and all must be spiritually circumcised in our hearts. And then we can return to the TREE OF LIFE, Jesus, and EAT (believe) and live forever!
